I was planning to post the grand finale of A Grotesque Friendship today. It was taking me a while to finish it, but after several edits I think I finally wrote exactly what I wanted to write. Understandably then, I was quite excited about putting the matter of the grotesque friendship to rest.
So why no update yet, you ask? Unfortunately, I have run into a disturbing technical difficulty. My beloved notebook in which I pen all my writing has gone missing and sadly, is nowhere to be found. Every nook and cranny has been thoroughly searched, each room in the house has been turned upside down, and all potential thieves have been interrogated, but to no avail. My notebook seems to have vanished into thin air.
Maybe I should just leave it alone and it will come home, wagging another story behind it.
Hajera, this is blasphemous. I can’t believe you. But wait, maybe someone took it on purpose..?
Yeah, maybe someone did. And I have reason to believe that that might be you. Or maybe not seeing as how I found it. Except that the ending is now missing. Don’t ask.
Hajera, let up on the act, cuz we all know you’re bluffing. Don’t worry, we’ll give you time. Must be difficult to come up with a suitable ending to that strange story.
Yeah but she told me she already has an ending written! Gah forget you.
Subway?
(and resist the urge to say, ‘eat fresh.’)
I would be devasted if I lost it in the subway for I would likely never see the notebook again. Luckily that wasn’t the case; I just left it at my lab, when I was uh, developing my film from Western blot membranes
Anyhow, fear not, readers. I have a brand new ending. And I think its better than the original. I’ll have it up by tomorrow Asmaa, so stop crying.
